We have posted in the past about "Windows 8 m3 Starter Kit" for Windows XP which transforms Windows XP in Windows 8.
Transform Windows XP into Windows 8 using "Windows 8 M3 Starter Kit"
If you do not want to use the transformation pack but still want to have Windows 8 feeling in your XP, here is something interesting for you.
Member of the Group of AskVG DA "PeterRollar" has an excellent Windows 8 Border skin created for Windows XP that normal windows XP Windows Explorer 8 Aero Lite style will convert.

The following is an example of Windows 8 Border Skin in action:

HOW TO USE?
1. first file after download:
Download Link
2. extract the downloaded RAR file with WinRAR or 7-zip.
3. Now carry BorderSkin .exe file from the folder Border Skin and it will be the Windows 8 Aero Lite style to Windows XP Explorer pane. You can also try other bundled skins.
4. The pack ViStart also contains skin to 8 Aero Lite Start menu of Windows XP. ViStart .exe ViStart file from folder just to run.
5. last thing is the Shellstyle.dll file. This file can be used to show common tasks in Windows Explorer on right similar to Windows 8 instead of the standard left side. Want to use, you must replace existing Shellstyle.dll file is present in "drive_letter: \Program windows\resources\themes\theme_folder\shell\normalcolor\" with this new one.
For example, if you SevenVG theme, you must replace "drive_letter: \Documents and windows\resources\themes\sevenvg rtm\shell\normalcolor\shellstyle.dll" file with this new one.
