Google Toolbar for Mozilla Firefox 5.0 and later versions discontinued

In a bit of a surprising move, Google has announced that they are going to stop google Toolbar for mozilla firefox 5.0 and newer versions.


Here is what the official announcement says:



First and foremost, we would like to thank all our loyal users of Google Toolbar for Firefox. We appreciate all feedback deep in the years that helped to make the product so useful. As we all know, in recent years, there is a tremendous amount of innovation in the browser space.


For Firefox users, many functions that were once offered by Google Toolbar for Firefox is already built into the browser. Therefore, while Google Toolbar for Firefox works on Firefox versions up to and including 4 alone, it will not be supported in future versions Firefox 5 and.


That is true that many Google toolbar features such as searchbox, spell check, etc are built into Firefox but what about other useful features such as page translation, Auto-fill, page sharing, Gmail notifier, etc?

If you have a long time use of the Google toolbar, you really miss in Firefox.
